Building Global Partnerships

Globalization has provided an opportunity for the FVPF to reach out to organizations around the world and create shared strategies that reduce violence against women and children. Globalization has also, unfortunately, given rise to horrific problems such as the international trafficking of women and girls. In an effort to reach out to colleagues globally and engage them in a common vision to end the maltreatment of women and children, the FVPF launched its works with the United Nations World Conference on Human Rights in 1993, and the 1995 United Nations World Conference on Women in Beijing. Since then, the FVPF has established partnerships with activists in China, India, Mexico and Russia and continues to cultivate alliances to address all forms of violence, including human trafficking.
